The short answer

Change oil every 5,000–10,000 miles, replace air filters every 15,000–30,000, flush brake fluid and coolant every 30,000–60,000, and replace timing belts (if equipped) and spark plugs around 60,000–100,000 miles. Always confirm with your owner's manual.

Every 5,000–10,000 miles

Oil and filter change, tire rotation, fluid checks, and multi-point inspection.

Every 15,000–30,000 miles

Engine and cabin air filters, brake inspection, battery test.

Every 30,000–60,000 miles

Brake fluid flush, coolant service, transmission fluid service and spark plugs on many vehicles.

Every 60,000–100,000 miles

Timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt and suspension inspection. Severe driving (towing, extreme heat) shortens intervals.
